Getting ready for a new season when the greens in Michigan look like this.

Week 4 Results

Our return to Bedford Valley was marked by summer-like temperatures (mid 80s) and plenty of sun.  There was a lot of griping in the clubhouse after the round.  The general feeling was that the greens were on the slow side.  The scores might support that, but a healthy number of birdies would suggest that the greens didn't bother us too much.

The scores for the week were turned in by Kyle Barnes and Jim Oswalt with a pair of 40s.  Rick Grosteffon finished one stroke back with a 41.  Ray Celeski, Dave Chapman, and Andrew Oswalt turned in 42s.  In the Green Flight, the low score was a 45 by Wayne Chapman.

The Birdie Report:  A total of 11 birdies were collected by our players The first birdie was scored on #11, a par 4, by Wes Osterling.  The 12th hole, the first par 3, had one birdie....by Mike Schulz.  A pair of birdies by Chris Miller and Gary Thompson were scored on the first par 5, #13.  The par 4 14th was birdied by Kyle Barnes.  Erik Celeski birdied the next par 4, #15.  There were 3 birdies on the last par 5:  Kevin Myers, Erik Celeski, and Dave Chapman.  On the last hole, Garland Piper and Jim Oswalt had birdies.

The Money Hole was #12 this week.  We had a winner this week.  Out of the Green Flight, Mike Schulz almost aced this 176 yard par 3, leaving a 1 foot birdie putt.  His birdie went unmatched.  He collects 2 weeks worth of kitty cash.
